Issaries' First Trading Trip - HeroQuest

This quest is most suitable for a worshipper of Gultha Goldentongue. The quest is usually performed to aid the questor's community but may also be performed to gain personal benefits. Possible alternative benefits include a divine companion, a Sack of Holding or a Staff of Surefootedness or a Theftproofed lockable box, learning Goldentongue's secret (once qualified) or empowering a long duration Bless Market. Be imaginative in thinking of things a merchant might need.

However, this quest may not be used to increase the merchant's wealth except, possibly and at the narrators sole discretion, as a side-effect of being successful.

The hero may be able to augment some abilities with others from the list of applicable abilities using the listed improvisation penalty.

Entering the HeroPlane

Meeting the Dead

The hero must choose one of the following ways of interacting with the dead. Once that choice is made, the hero may not change their mind.

Resist Raw Greed

This station may be a Quest Challenge, in which case the APs for the resistance are 100. The hero will usually stake a relationship. If the hero wins the challenge, they may increase either the wealth rating for the community by the lower of the rating staked by the hero and 10w2 or split this increase equally between community wealth and the relationship to the community. Alternatively, the hero may stake a virtue or their piety and split the increase equally between a community's wealth and the staked ability. If the hero loses, they gain the flaw of Raw Greed at 10w2 (see Storm Tribe page 120, but without the effect of decreasing abilities).

This station is passing a barrier to return home. If the hero has positive carryover coming into the station and also succeeds in this station, the hero learns of a new trading opportunity available to them. This is in addition to any other benefit gained on the quest.
